The Strathmore Community Hub (SCH) will only collect the data we need to in order to:
- Give you the best room booking experience (if you’re booking a room with us)
- Allow us to conduct business with you (if we hold your data for other business reasons)
The SCH retains full compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where SCH is designated the “Controller” of personal data.
We will take care of this data the best we can while we have it. Unless you say otherwise, we might use this data to keep in touch with you about SCH business. If you want to see, amend or have us delete this data we will comply, unless we have to keep it for legal or business reasons.
How we collect data
- Direct contact – in person, via phone, mail, email, social media, social messaging
- Online – via our own website, or any other website we use, such as Mailchimp or our HallBookingOnline websites. Cookies may be used on any or all of these websites.
How we may use this data
- To provide our core services, i.e., to run the SCH as a charity, to rent our rooms to fulfil our stated aims to benefit our community.
- To keep our members updated on developments concerning the SCH
- To advertise and seek support for our events, fundraising activities and initiatives
We promise to
- Collect your data fairly, lawfully and to take all steps to protect that data while we have it
- Meet our legal obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018
- Never sell or otherwise give out your data unless legally required to
- Make sure your data is kept up to date and not held for longer than required
- Ensure your rights to see that data, amend or delete it are retained
- Make sure SCH staff are sufficiently trained to deal with your data
