The Big Hoose is an initiative to help families with children under 25 who are struggling to make ends meet, and to keep goods out of landfill. Our users can come in and select from the available list of non food items (toiletries, cleaning products, clothing, shoes) and they will be delivered for collection a few days later. Items are new and come from Amazon and major supermarkets who would struggle to store them. This service is FREE so pop round to the Hub to find out more.
The well known Fareshare initiative has been successfully distributing food items to local charities and we are glad to get onboard. We have a small Fareshare shop in the Hub, currently opening every Friday at noon. We get a different selection of items each week, typically including fresh fruit and veg, ambient items such as bread and tins as well as fridge and frozen items. Our Fareshare products are open to all and low cost, although we may restrict quantities so everyone can benefit from what we are offering.
